Santa Monica Mountains 30k This Sunday!

I can't wait for the Santa Monica Mountains 30k this Sunday! The scenery was amazing when I previewed the course a few weeks ago, and the weather is supposed to be perfect: overcast with a high below 80 degrees. A great day for a run, and gorgeous terrain to run through.

I'm sure I will spend much of the run this weekend thinking of how wonderful last weekend was. I traveled to Rhode Island to celebrate the marriage of my good friend Allen, and his (now) wife Angela (who is also a blogger, incidentally!) I can hardly express how wonderful it was to be among good, good friends from college. Laughter and good cheer abounded.

Congratulations, Allen and Angela! Ol' Uncle Ed's blessing on my blog goes out to you. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. And may your trail lead you on a long and happy journey -- together.

Sarah pointed me to your blog. I'll be there tomorrow with my running group but I'm running the 9K since I'm racing 35 miles on Saturday. Yikes! Anyway... I'm the Twin Peaks Race Director and I see you have that on your race list. Very cool! :) Maybe we can meet up tomorrow if you get this. I'll keep an eye out for you.

I hope you had fun at the 30K. A buddy of mine, Caleb Chatfield, ran the same race.

Happy trails,
Bad Ben

Thanks so much for the good wishes, all! Unfortunately (as you'll read on the blog) I was sick all last weekend. Ick!

Fortunately, feeling better now, and headed to the Grand Canyon for Thanksgiving with my partner Christi.

Jessica -- I'm so excited about your Twin Peaks race! Hope you had a good run on Sunday.
