Pineridge In Winter

I sometimes struggle to get myself outside for a run when it's cold and dark. Winter can pose a challenge for any runner who wants to stay on top of her mileage, but for this runner in particular, who thrives on a steady diet of sunshine, winter can be a daily struggle to get in the miles.

But then, along comes a day like today. High on a recently-submitted grant proposal (I'll take a thrill wherever I can get it!) I headed out into the sparkle of freshly-fallen snow. This, then, was my reward for braving the cold.

Enjoy these photos of the Pineridge Open Space, about three blocks from my house. I managed to snap a few pics before the camera batteries got too cold & stopped working.
